I just saw a pic of the new Schiller stamp and can't believe how poorly it was designed. It has to be one of the worst looking examples of a stamp I have ever seen. Most recent German stamps are of very low, if any artistic quality, they are basically boring. Compare these to West German stamps which were well designed and many a pleasure to look at.
What's the matter... no decent designers in Germany?

don't ask me why, but from the first moment I saw this stamp, I really liked it - perhaps because the design is a bit unusual.

Völlig richtig, es kommt immer auf den Betrachter an.
Ein Trost vielleciht: es gibt viel schlimmere Marken, die die Deutsche Post heraus gebracht hat. Entscheiden tut das immer der "Kunstbeirat", und oft mit häßlichen Marken.Die Schiller-Marke ist nicht so schlecht wie viele andere Marken.

völlig richtig: über Geschmack lässt sich bekanntnlich nicht streiten, ist auch gut so.
