What does Entgelt bezahlt mean and why is there no date?
Also, what is the location of Briefzentrum 30 ?

Entgelt bezahlt simply means postage paid.
The undated cancellations are often applied to bulk (junk) mail sendings. Such sendings are delivered to the centres prepaid/ pre-stamped.
This website gives details of the Briefzentren/regionen.
30 would be indicative of Hanover

with stamps at all? Why not just meter or imprint?
And why no date?
"To attract the customers attention" - PR agencies spindoctors state that mails showing postage stamps get more attention than those with just meters/imprinted "paid" marks.
The latter get trashed almost immediately w/o ever opened.
Posts use this as argument to sell stamps to bulk mailers who want more attention by customers.
PR mails sent by the DP (german posts) itself always uses postage stamps with the shown marking printed over (and tied with the envelope).

Yes that would make sense I suppose but unless one is a stamp collector
the average person doesn't care whether his envelopes containing bills or ads in the mail are franked with stamps or not.
It's getting to the point where the young ones don't even know what a stamp is. At least that's the situation here in Canada.
