why"backstamped"??
Hallo!
I mean it has an arrival backstamp of ATHENS 17.4.1935 (the auctioneer kindly supplied a photocopy of the back of the cover).
As it is postmarked MONTEVIDEO 15.4.1935 it is impossible to have flown on the 1.SAF 1935 which had drop the mail to DLH at Larache on 14.4.35.
Best regards,
Alexios
Hello alexiosp !
I think, you are right: there ist something wrong. I read the Montevideo-stamp 15.IV.1935. It was not possible to reach the airship on the first Southamerica-Flight 1935 - it left Rio already at April 11 and Recife at April 13 to its homeflight and reached Friedrichshafen at April 16.
The only way, that Sieger 291. C) could be correct, consists in the possibility, that the date of dispatch is wrong - or we read it wrong. Only then is an arrival date in Athens at April 17 possible. There was no way in 1935, to send a letter from Uruguay to Greece in two days (and I doubt, that it's possible today ...)

Hello balf_de !
Exactly my thoughts, I couldn't agree more. Probably the dispatch date is wrong.
